Easter as it may be

Alas, It's the Holy Week again,

I will be away from my family members back home for the first time during Easter and would be spending it with a couple of friends in Kalbari. It's something different and for me, a definite good break away from work, which had been thrown at me like there's no tommorrow.

A time to reflect I'd say and hope for peace and justice to prevail anywhere in the world. I hope I do get lots of Easter eggs this time around !

The Rantings of a Chemical Engineer

So happen that the oil prices have past the US110 mark or so over the past few days, so what's in it for peeps like us in the business of producing it. Simply said more work but most people would raise their eyebrow when you say that you are working in the oil and gas industry. Cash cow ? Nah, no even close.

Well, from the looks of it we are no different from the people in other industries, the higher the oil prices get the more work we get and it doesn't get any better than that. In fact I would foresee the world using gas as as an alternative energy before it dwindles in a couple of years and bio stuff (biodiesel etc) becomes popular. But when that happens, it will not be the end for us in the Oil and Gas industry as we are Chemical Engineers and as such we could easily adapt to a change of the product per se.

In other words, we would never run out of a job...
